چکیده

Psychobiotics are defined as the organisms that can provide mental health benefit. The possible mechanism of psychobiotics is manipulation neurotransmitter production and by microbes. lactobacillus group has been reported for potential production, especially g-aminobutyric acid (GABA) which an important inhibitory neurotransmitter. Therefore, GABA be used relaxation applied in various psychiatric disorders. aim this study was determination lactic bacterial isolates from Pak Sian Dong Thailand producing ability. results found there were 3 isolates, SF66, SF80 SF82, revealed ability to produce glutamic decarboxylase (GAD) enzyme. detected thin layer chromatography (TLC) high-performance liquid (HPLC) culture containing 3% monosodium glutamate. survival gastrointestinal synthetic condition only SF66 isolate showed authentic percentage then selected. From identification, identified Lactiplantibacillus pentosus designated L. exhibited with further investigation development psychobiotics.

P146: Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) and its Alterations in Stress

Gamma aminobutyrate (GABA) is a non-protein amino acid that is thought to play an important role in the modulation of the central response to stress. Mechanisms by which GABA may facilitate these responses to stress are metabolic and/or mechanical disruptions. Environmental stresses increase GABA accumulation through cytosolic acidification, induce an acidic pH-dependent activation of glutamate...

Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) Monograpy

Introduction Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a major neuro transmitter widely distributed throughout the central nervous system (CNS). Because too much excitation can lead to irritability, restlessness, insomnia, seizures, and movement disorders, it must be balanced with inhibition. GABA – the most important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain – provides this inhibition, acting like a “b...

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in cerebrospinal fluid.

Levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were measured by radioreceptor assay (RRA) in 25 normal controls and in 121 patients with various central nervous system disorders. CSF-GABA levels could be measured down to 5 pmoles/ml reliably by this assay. In normal controls, the mean (+/- SEM) GABA level in CSF was 127 +/- 5.2 pmoles/ml. There was no correlation between ...

gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) and sepsis-related encephalopathy.

In order to determine whether disturbances in GABA homeostasis might play a role in the pathogenesis of sepsis-related encephalopathy, serum and brain tissue GABA concentrations from six areas of the brain (cortex, diencephalon, striatum, hippocampus, midbrain, and pons-medulla) were determined in a rat model of bacterial sepsis (cecal ligation and perforation). The results were compared to tho...
